Damian Cosio – Male Athlete of the Month, March
Damian Cosio is a first grader at 66th Elementary school in BTSLA's Bell Community Program. He has been wrestling for two years with Coach Josue Pivaral, and continues to enjoy learning new things. His favorite wrestling move is the single leg takedown. Outside of wrestling, he also plays t-ball and soccer. In school, he enjoys writing in his practice book. His favorite TV show is Tom and Jerry, and while he doesn't have a favorite movie, he enjoys watching a variety on Netfl

Aryel Cosio is a 3rd grader at 66th Elementary School in BTSLA's Bell Community Program. She has been wrestling for two years with Coach Josue Pivaral, and enjoys learning new techniques. Her favorite wrestling move is the ankle pick. Outside of wrestling, she enjoys playing t-ball and soccer and learning about math in school. Southern California girls converge for Angel City Grand Prix
May 3, 2017 | On April 22nd, over 150 athletes from across Southern California participated in the 4th annual Angel City Grand Prix held at Mountain View High School in El Monte. Wrestlers from seven California counties converged to compete in the all-girls freestyle tournament. Contestants competed in Junior, Cadet, Schoolgirl, Novice, and Intermediate age divisions. 2017 Futures Camp Fundraiser
On February 23rd, 2017, Laura Stein & Sam Goldfeder welcomed friends and supporters of BTSLA into their home for the 3rd consecutive year to raise funds for the BTSLA Futures Camp Scholarship Program. Thanks to the efforts of Laura & Sam, Michael Goldfeder, and Leigh Stein & Joe McNamara, $34, 500 was successfully raised towards our $50,000 goal. April 14, 2017 | Beat the Streets Los Angeles was honored to receive a generous financial grant from the LA84 Foundation that provided critical funds for the 2016-17 BTSLA season.The LA84 Foundation, a legacy of the 1984 Olympic Games, transforms lives and communities through its support of youth sports programs. BTSLA Shines at CAUSA Kids Folkstyle Championships
April 10, 2017 | Over 40 wrestlers from Beat the Streets Los Angeles attended the always-competitive CAUSA Kids Folkstyle State Championships on March 18-19th. Westcoast Sports Associates Awards Generous Grant to BTSLA

Breyanna Kellum – Female Athlete of the Month, February
Breyanna Kellum, Golden Warriors Wrestling Breyanna just completed her first year wrestling with Beat the Streets LA. Her favorite wrestling move is the ankle pick. Porter and San Fernando triumph at BTSLA Championships
March 3, 2017 | The 2016-17 BTSLA Wrestling Championships were held at Roybal Learning Center this past Sunday, February 26th.
