On Sunday, September 21, Beat the Streets LA launched the first Tomorrow’s Leaders workshop of the season with an incredible turnout of more than 88 returning and new student-athletes.

The day began with a health and nutrition session led by Jess Griffith, Registered Dietitian, Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD), Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS), USC Sports Dietician, and Naval Officer. Jess offered practical, easy to implement, advice on fueling for success. Griffith covered what to eat before and after practice, how to recover through nutrition, and long-term strategies for health and performance. Students walked away with tools they could put into practice immediately in their daily lives.

In the afternoon, athletes hit the mats with Evan Wick, 2025 U.S. Open National Champion, 2x Olympic Team Trials Qualifier, 4x NCAA All-American, and former Cal Poly assistant coach. Evan worked directly with students, breaking down technique, sharpening shots, and modeling the training habits that carried him to the highest levels of competition.

This workshop truly embodied the mission of the Tomorrow’s Leaders program, which aims to equip student-athletes with essential skills for their post-high school journey. For the 2025-26 season, we are offering 10 in total workshops designed to nurture leadership, college readiness, and career preparation.

A huge thank you to Jess Griffith R.D. and Evan Wick for sharing their passion and expertise—and congratulations to our student-athletes for showing up with such energy and commitment. If this kickoff is any sign, the 2025–26 Tomorrow’s Leaders season will be one to remember!
