This weekend’s Tomorrow’s Leaders Workshop brought together 68 student-athletes for the final session of the fall series, giving them a space to find their voices, challenge their limits, and learn from mentors who’ve turned perseverance into purpose and experience into guidance.

The day began with a powerful public speaking session led by Dr. Angela Sadler Williamson, an Emmy-nominated filmmaker, best-selling author, and educator. Dr. Angela shared her “Clear and Comprehensive Guide to Achieve Public Speaking Success in Four Steps,” helping students understand how to craft meaningful speeches and connect their ideas to scholarship essays.

She invited several students to speak about what makes them unique, encouraging them to embrace their individuality as the foundation for their stories. Dr. Angela reminded everyone that their voices matter and that authenticity is the key to impactful communication.

After the workshop, students took to the mat with Coach Mark Muñoz, a two-time NCAA Champion and former UFC fighter. Coach Muñoz brought unmatched energy and enthusiasm, leading a dynamic session focused on strength, teamwork, and positivity. Students competed in a tug-of-war-style challenge that tested their strategy and grit, cheering one another on with laughter and determination. He closed the session with technical drills, teaching how to run a half and blending skill development with fun in a way that kept everyone engaged.

To wrap up the day, the girls gathered for the second Body Confident Sport session, diving into meaningful conversations about confidence, mindset, and empowerment.

From finding their voices with Dr. Angela to testing their strength with Coach Muñoz, students left the workshop inspired, confident, and ready to lead — what a great send-off to an incredible fall series! The Tomorrow’s Leaders program will resume in the spring, bringing more opportunities for growth, connection, and leadership development both on and off the mat.
