
Jeff Newman

Jeff Newman, a Pasadena resident and father of twins, was a 4-year collegiate wrestler, wrestling for Lehigh University after transferring from UCLA. During that time, he competed in the Pac-8, Eastern and NCAA wrestling tournaments. During high school in Palo Alto, he was teammates with Dave and Mark Schultz, was coached by Chris Horpel and Ed Hart, and later by Don Conway and Thad Turner. While attending graduate school, Newman served as an assistant coach for Roger Reina at the University of Pennsylvania.
Newman earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Lehigh and an MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. After completing business school, he moved back to California to work in the commercial real estate industry and is now CEO of Karney Properties, a Santa Monica based real estate investment company.
In addition to his professional work, Newman has coached youth sports extensively and serves on the Board of The John Tracy Center, supporting children with hearing loss and their families. He also serves on the Lehigh University Wrestling Partnership Board.
